Academy of Media Arts
Overview
The Legacy Visual and Performing Arts High School Academy of Media Arts is one of a handful of such programs in LAUSD and one of the only programs in the Eastern and Southern parts of the district. Founded by Nick Adolfo when Legacy VAPA open her doors in 2012, the program has since grown to include all aspects of professional video and film-making, extensively funded by federal and state CTE and Perkins programs including the latest equipment and techniques. Students in the program have regularly submitted works to student film contests, have recorded and live-streamed school concerts and sporting events, and are currently preparing the latest production of Tiger TV, the school student news broadcast.
